Predicted Conference Standings
- Kansas State Wildcats- Junior Avery Johnson will lead as the quarterback for head coach Chris Klieman. He will be able to lead from strength as he has a strong backfield to work with which includes Joe Jackson and Dylan Edwards. The receiver are strong with Jerand Bradley and Jaron Tibbs. The defense is the best in the conference and will help win lost of games. This team is built to win the conference. Bill Snyder Family Stadium is there home which seats 50.000 fans. the opener is scheduled for August 23rd at home against Iowa State in Ireland,
- Texas Tech Red Raiders – Quarterback Behren Morton returns as one of the best at his position in the conference. Head coach Joey McGuire has brought in a ton of transfers and portal players to help their chances this season. The defense has a makeover and expected to be in the mi for the conference championship. Sophomore Quinton Sawyer will get the bulk of carries. This team plays at Jones AT&T in Lubbock, Texas with 60,229 seats.. They open their season on August 30th at home against Pine Bluff Arkansas.
- Arizona State Sun Devils- I am already wondering why I didn’t pick this team to win the conference . However, losing running back Cam Skattebo was the primary reason. Junior Kyson Brown takes over unless a transfer edges him out. To replace Sakttebo is difficult. Quarterback Sam Leavitt is an experienced sophomore and could lead them again Head coach Henny Dillingham brought in an outstanding group for 2025. This team plays at Mountain America Stadium with a full house of 53,599 fans. They opener is August 30th against Northern Arizona
- Iowa State Cyclones – Junior quarterback Rocco Brecht returns for head coach Matt Campbell. and with his past experience of throwing for 6,690 yards with 48 touchdowns in his career along with 8% completion rare last year, is a definite plus for the Cyclones. There will plenty of passes to share among the receiving corp of players. The running back spot is likely going to Carson Hansen and Abu Sama III. The defense is good with linebacker Caleb Bacon leading the way. The team plays at Jack Trice Stadium which seats 61,500 fans. The opener is August 23 against Kansas State in Ireland. This is a very good fourth place team!
- Baylor Bears- Sophomore running back Bryant Washington returns after rushing for 1.028 yards and 12 touchdowns in his first season. Junior Dawson Pendergrass us a capable back-up after 671 yards of his own. Quarterback Sawyer Robertson came along quite nicely with 3,071 yards with 28 touchdowns. The offense is very good but the defense has some work ahead. Head coach Dave Aranda be able to be bowl worthy in a offensive rich conference. McLane Stadium is their home which seats 45,140 fans. Also, they open on August 29th at home against Auburn.
- BYU Cougars – Senior Jake Retzlaff led this team on 2024 to an 11-2 record. He threw for 2.947 yards and 20 touchdowns. Running back LJ Martin returns and a couple of transfers at the tight end spoit makes this team dangerous. The Cougars lay at Lavell Edwards Stadium and it has a seating capacity of 62,073. They open on August 30th at home against Portland State.
- Kansas Jayhawks- There are lots of concerns regarding to whole in the roster. Jalon Daniels at quarterback could help offset this concerns. The defense needs to step up but the majority of scoring from 2024 is gone. The Jayhawks play in 47,000 seat David Booth Memorial Stadium. Head coach Lance Leipold and his squad open on August 23rd at home against Fresno State.
- Utah Utes – Last season was a dissapointment for the Utes. In 2025. head coach Kyle Whittingham has brought in new players with Devon Dampier, fronm New Mexico as quarterback where he tosse for 2,748 yards and 12 touchdowns.and slso rushing for 1,166 yards and 19 touchdowns. Coming in to be aa primary running back from Washington State is Wayshawn Parker and returning iis Nate johnson after one year away at Vanderbilt. This team plays att Rice Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, UT and it seats 51,444 fans. The opener is August 30th on the road at UCLA.
- TCU Horned Frogs- Last season they finished 9-4 but head coach Sonny Dykes feels good about 202 as last years starter Josh Hoover returns after leading the conference. He amassed 3949 yards with 27 touchdowns. His top receivers re gone and now he turns to Eric McAllister and Jordan Dwyer from Idaho along with Joseph Manjack IV from Houston. The defense is decent enough to pull them up a few spots in the Big 12 conference. They play at Amon G. Carter Stadium with 47,000 seats. The horned Frogs open on Sept. 1st at North Carolina.
- Colorado Buffaloes – Head coach Deion Sanders must replace his son Shadeur Sanders at quarterback as Shadeur is now in the pro ranks. the likely replacement is Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter. Look for Coach Sanders to lose interest without his son on the team. They will over around the .500 level. they play at Folsom Stadium in Boulder, CO.which seats 50,183 fans.
- Cincinnati Bearcats – This team lost heir three best offensive players and will bring back only quarterback Brendan Sorsby and tight end Joe Royer. Head coach Scott Satterfield will need to improvise for this team to meet the 2024 expectations. They play at Nippert Stadium which seats 38, 088 fans and they open on August 28th home against Nebraska.
- Houston Cougars – Connor Weigman comes in at the quarterback position after spending time at Texas A&M. Sophomore running back Re’Shaun Sanford II will be the primary ball carrier. In 2024, Houston won four games and may have trouble duplicating that. The top transfer is wide receiver KC Concepcion from UNC.They play their home contests at Texas Stadium and 40,000 seats. The opener is August 28th at home against Stephen F. Austiin.
- Oklahoma State Cpwboys – Head coach Mike Gundy cleaned house after 2024 which saw them finish 3-9 n the season. n fact, he may have over 35 new players by transfer. Hauss Hejny , a freshman, will be his likely starter at quarterback. Sophomore wide receiver is lone returnee from the offense and will relied upon to keep his teammates in tow. The Cowboys play in Stillwater at Boone Picken Stadium with 53.305 seats. They open on August 28th at home against Tennessee Martin,
- Arizona Wildcats= Head coach Brent Brennan has litle to get excited about. He does have Noah Fafita returning and Tetairoa McMillan at wide receiver. However, his top transfer is quarterback Jasckson Arnold. and he could be outstanding. Senior tight end Tristan Bounds will get some touches but a four win season is tops for this team. They play their home games at at Arizona Stadium with 50,000 seats. August 30th is their opener at home versus Hawaii.
- West Virginia Mountaineers- Almost all of the offense is gone with only running back Jaheim White returning after amasssing 844 yards and seven touchdowns. Head coach Rich Rodriguez will have to decide who is his quarterback with Texas A&M transfer Jalen Henderson as the front runner. So many new players, WV isn’t looking for a better than 6-7 from 2024. The team plays at Milan Puskar Stadium in front of 60,000 fans. They open up on August 30th at home against Robert Morris.
- UCF Knights – The savior is back at the helm with Scott Frost returning from his glory days of coaching an undefeated season in 2017. then he moved on to his alma mater in Nebraska and had a miserable time. Now he returns with very little experience on his roster. Cam Fancher appears to lead all of the quarterback transfers, from Indiana and various other schools. All wide receivers need to be replaced. This team will surprise the conference if they can stay out of last place. They play at FBC Mortgage Stadium in Orlando and it seats 44.206 fans. They open up on August 28th at home against Jacksonville State.
