KNUPPEL FAMILY HISTORY

 

First of all, German ancestors are very hard to find. There are various reasons for sure but I know that in my research most of the records came from paying for each document.There is supposed to be church records of everything that I need to know. But I didn’t buy it. 

This lineage will be shorter than some but I am still digging and trying to find more information and when I do, it will be added here.

I have started with the generations furthest away and went to the (what is now) present day.

 

(5th GGF) Heirich Knueppel– born in 1665 at Martfeld 9, Diepholz, Niedersachsen, Germany and died on an unknown date at the same residence. For now, I have been unable to locate a spouse or other information on Heinrich.

 

(4GGF) Christoph H Knueppel was born in 1722 in Essem,Nienburg, Niedersachsen, Deutschland and died on August 27, 1790 in the same area. He married Catharine Ilsebe Tinnemeier (1722–1790) on November 15, 1751 in Lavelsloh, Nienburg, Niedersachsen, Deutschland and they had three children:

  2. July 1749 Mette Alheit KNUEPPEL

(3GGF) Hinrich Knueppel was born August 12, 1756 and died on March 25, 1813, in Martfeld, Lower Saxony, Germany, at the age of 69. He married Anna Beke Peimann. She was born in 1734 at Martfeld # 5, Bruchhausen-Vilsen, Diepholz, Lower Saxony, Germany and died on 14 March 14,1803 at Martfeld # 114, Bruchhausen-Vilsen, Diepholz, Lower Saxony, Germany

(GGF) (Rennig) Henry Jacob Knuppel was born on February 21, 1838, in Hannover, Lower Saxony, Germany. He married Anna Christine Marie Harfst on January 30, 1866, in Mason County, Illinois. Children include:

He came to the United States on the ship “Cimbria” around 1858.Despite having been born in Germany, he served in the U.S. Civil War 1861-1864, enlisting from Mason County, Illinois.

He died on September 19, 1926, in Forest City, Illinois, at the age of 88. He and his wife are buried in Bishop, Illinois by an old closed Lutheran church.

(GF) When William Henry Knuppel was born on September 20, 1879, in Mason, Illinois, his father, Henry J., was 41 and his mother, Anna, was 30. He married Johannah “Hannah” Helene Kreiling on March 3, 1903, in Topeka, Illinois. They had two children (Mabel and Paul) during their marriage. He died on October 7, 1943, in his hometown at the age of 64, and was buried in Havana, Illinois.

    •  Rhett Alan Knuppel was born on April 27, 1985 and spent 13 months traveling back and forth to St Jude Children’s Hospital and died December 21, 1986 of neuroblastoma.
    •  Randy Thomas Knuppel born on September 18, 1988.

 

2. Lyle Kenneth Knuppel was born July 30, 1946 in Easton, Illinois. After high school he entered the Air Force and was stationed in Wichita, Kansas. It was there he met and married Sandra Kay Unrein 1/4/1949)on September 20, 1969 in Wichita, Kansas. Their children include:

    • Shannon Marie Knuppel (9/11/1972) married Neil Bhargava (2/21/1973) on August 1, 1998 in Wichita, Kansas and their children include:

3. John Henry Knuppel was born on May 5, 1944 and married Shirlene Johnson (May 26, 1944) on September 1, 1963. Their children include:

    • David John Knuppel was born on September 25, 1964 and died on March 11, 1995. He married Jane Schawecker and had one child.
      • Cassandra Knuppel born on July 18, 1990 and married Robert Everly.
    • Marcia Lynn Knuppel was born on April 3, 1968 and she married Scott Wallace (December 6, 1963) on November 19, 1994. Their children:
