College Football Friday for June 6, 2025

Top Quarterbacks in 2025 College Football

Top of anything comes with many, many different lists. Not everyone agrees with those that write top lists. Anyway, I have the Top 15 Quarterbacks as I view them for 2025. Please wait until the end to call me a name,

College football 2025 may be the least sure thing in sports up until this season with all of the transfers and portal players grabbing for the money. Please look for my other top list of college football each week until the season begins in late August.

TOP 15 College QUARTERBACKS in 2025

                         (in no particular order)

Carson Beck– Miami Carson is 6’4” and 215 lbs and is known as an accurate pocket passer and a fiery runner willing to mix it up if needed. After two years as a starting quarterback at Georgia, Beck transferred to UM for his final year of college eligibility. In his Junior season at Georgia, he led the SEC in several categories and was very good his senior season.

Haynes King– Georgia Tech   Formerly a starter for Texas A&M, he is now the quarterback at Georgia Tech and could lead them to a better season than they have ever seen. This 6’3’ 200 lbs from Longview Texas is a legit top ten QB in the country.

DJ Lagway – Florida – The sophomore  from Willis ,Texas stands 6’3” and is 223 lbs. He has had some shoulder issues but appears healthy as the 2025 season gets close. The quarterback recruit in 2024 led the Power Four with an 8.8% big-time throw rate last season and was third in the nation with a 95.6 passing grade on deep throws.I would have him in my top five.

Sawyer Robertson– Baylor- From Lubbock, Texas, he is a 6‘4’ 220 lb. senior with tons of college experience. Last season he threw for 28 touchdowns and only 8 interceptions along with 3,071 yards. If he stays healthy, Robertson is a legitimate Heisman candidate in 2025

LaNorris Sellers – South Carolina-  he’s 6’3″, 240 pounds, and very hard to bring down. The current Sophomore had a very good second half of the season as a freshman. I place him just inside the top ten best quarterbacks in 2025.

Garrett Nussmeier– LSU – This 6’2” 200lb  senior quarterback from Lake Charles, Louisiana, has a big time arm as he amassed 4,059 yards with 29 touchdowns and had only 12 interceptions.

Drew Allar– Penn State- With this team as one of the top teams in the country, there will be lots of eyes on Allar as this 6’5” 234 lbs junior would look to add to his 2024 stats which was  3,324 yards passed with 24 touchdowns and  only 8 interceptions. Serious candidate for Heisman

Sam Leavitt- Arizona State- A sophomore from  West Linn, Oregon stands at 6’2” and 200 lbs threw for 2885 yards and 24 touchdowns. He has good numbers and could be a sleeper in the quarterback race.

John Mateer– Oklahoma – from Little Elm Texas, he is 6’1” amd 219 lbs.  Mateer was considered the #1 quarterback transfer this off-season. Last yeat at Washington State, he threw for 3,139 yards with 29 touchdowns and only 7 interceptions. Another darkhorse for the Heisman Trophy.

Cade Klubnik– Clemson-  The senior is a 6’2’ 210 lbs quarterback from Austin, Texas. Last year for Clemson, he threw for 3,629 yards with 36 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions. He has NFL aspirations and is my personal pick for winning the Heisman Trophy.

Arch Manning- Texas – The eyes of the college football community will be scrutinizing his every move. Arch is 6’4” 225 lbs and threw for 929 yards with 9 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.I personally believe he is a year away from being  a top star in college football

Kevin Jennings- SMU – threw for 3.245 yards with 23 touchdowns along with allowing 11 interceptions. Being at SMU won’t enhance his chances for a Heisman.

Taylen Green– Arkansas – from Louisville, Kentucky, Green tossed for 3.254 yards and 23 touchdowns and is impressive for a Top  team.

Luke Altmyer– Illinois – Although not likely to be a Hesiman threat, Luke has taken Illinois to new heights as he threw for 2,717 yards and 22 touchdowns but only allowed 6 interceptions He is from Starkville, MS.

Nico Iamaleava– UCLA – I’m a believa in Iamaleava! This Bruin is from Long Beach, CA and he tossed for 2,616 yards with 29 touchdowns  but too many interceptions at 19. He is 6’5”” and 215 lbs.

There are absolutely more quarterbacks that could go on this list but these are the top Fifteen as I have selected.
